These Hubs and Knuckles have been sand blasted and the imperfections are machined away.  They are then placed in an industrial chrome bath.  When a sufficient amount of chrome has built up in the bearing areas they are re-ground to aircraft tolerances which give a good press fit for the bearings onto the hub and a snug tap fit into the knuckle.

Short explanation on what this process provides.  These metal parts are measured on the Rockwell Hardness Scale.  The following is a breakdown for these parts:

New Knuckles———–45.

New Hubs—————-50.

Chrome Surface——–70.

Timken Bearings——-60.

Because of the hard surface and the precise, snug fit grinding, the bearings are not allowed to move around at all.

Zerks for external bearing lube can be installed $20.

Options:

Add a set of Grade 8 Bolts & Lock Washers and Cotter Pins - $16 full set.

The Seal Retainer Bolts are slotted on the thread end for easy installation.

I can assemble the Rotor, Seals & Bearings onto the hub - $40 both sides.

You would have to send me your Seal Retainers with the cores.

I can assemble the hub onto the knuckle - $40 both sides.

Not my preferred method for installing H&K but some say it is easier.  You must be careful not to damage the inner seal.

Add powder coating to protect the exposed surfaces.

The picture is of a set of H&K that have been powder coated.
